Rumour: Resident Evil 2 PS4 Demo Could Release This Week

Using Capcom's proprietary RE ENGINE, Resident Evil 2 offers a fresh take on the classic survival horror saga with breathtakingly realistic visuals, heart-poundingly immersive audio, a new over-the-shoulder camera, and modernized controls on top of gameplay modes from the original game. If you die, you can continue, but once those 30 minutes are up, you're done. The important thing is that you'll only have a half hour to do it all before you're locked out - that's why they call it the "1-Shot Demo".

Samuel recently played a demo for the upcoming Resident Evil 2 Remake, and it left him certain that he wants the full game.

BUT, you only have 30 minutes.

Once you complete the demo, you'll get to view an exclusive new cinematic trailer. You can even save your game, giving you a chance to play through as many times as you need to fill out Nero's move list.

Players will be put in the shoes of rookie cop Leon Kennedy as he explores the terror that has overtaken Raccoon City Police Department.

The Resident Evil 2 demo will be a free download on PC (via Steam), PS4, and Xbox One from January 11 to 31. It's effectively a whole new game, but covering the same plot points as Resident Evil 2, with heavy controls created to evoke that sense of claustrophobia we know the series so well for. Like all demos, this playable period prior to launch will be available for a very limited amount of time.

Given that so few games even do demos nowadays, it's nice to see something a little bit different done with the idea.
