Sergei Bobrovsky to miss Predators game after incident

On top of those moves the Jackets will be without two time Vezina winning goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky after an "incident" according to general manager Jarmo Kekelainen. He is expected to be on the ice for Friday's practice if a morning meeting with Kekalainen goes well, reports Aaron Portzline of The Athletic.

This news comes after an embarrassing 4-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning in which Bobrovsky allowed four goals on 19 shots.

A two-time Vezina Trophy victor, Bobrovsky is 18-13-1 with a 2.87 goals-against average, two shutouts and a.906 save percentage through 32 games this season.

"There's no sense asking", Tortorella told reporters when asked about it Thursday. "Jarmo and I will do the speaking on it if any more speaking needs to be done, but the release speaks for itself".

The Jackets have since called up Jean-Francois Berube from the Cleveland Monsters who was apparently told that he would be coming to Columbus late last night.

The 30-year-old Bobrovsky is 18-13-1 in the final year of his contract and so far has declined to sign a long-term extension.

"I heard some interviews during the summer and stuff like that", Bobrovsky said at the time. They know my plans for this season, they know my plans for the future so they know everything.

"How can you ask me that question?" "We have a young team and I don't want too much distraction around the locker room from our situation, from my situation". Backup Joonas Korpisalo is in line to start.

The Blue Jackets also announced on Thursday that centre Brandon Dubinsky will miss at least one week while recovering from a hamstring injury.

The Blue Jackets enter play Thursday with a 24-15-3 record and sit in third in the Metropolitan Division.
