Several Injured In Big Explosion At Bakery In Central Paris

Several people have been injured after a large explosion at a bakery in central Paris, French police say.

The blast occurred on the Rue de Trevise, which is located in the 9th arrondissement of the French capital.

Photos shared on social media show the windows blown out of the building with rubble strewn across the street.

A Paris police spokeswoman said firefighters are now at the bakery on Rue Trevise in the 9th arrondissement of north-central Paris.

Several injuries had been reported to police but no deaths.

They have asked people to stay away from the area, to allow emergency services access.

The explosion came amid heavy security in Paris and around France for yellow vest protests expected later Saturday.
