Sevilla and Barcelona reach agreement for Munir

Sevilla have confirmed that they have reached an agreement in principle to sign Barcelona forward Munir El Haddadi.

Goal previously reported the 23-year-old Munir, who was in the last six months of his deal with the La Liga champions, was intent on joining Sevilla this summer when his deal expired after rejecting contract offers from Barcelona.

"It seems Munir has taken a decision and, evidently, the club have also made a decision", Valverde said in a news conference on Wednesday.

Munir has had loan spells at Valencia and Deportivo Alaves over the previous two seasons and has failed to force himself into Ernesto Valverde's plans this term, making just 11 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals.

The club would be willing to accept a fee between €2-3 million to raise funds and with Sevilla pushing to get a deal done in January, it is likely an agreement will be reached in the near future.

This season Munir found his playing time at Barcelona limited as he featured just seven times for the club in La Liga.

The Spaniard was a star of the Barcelona Under-19 side that won the UEFA Youth League in 2014, and went on to make a total of 56 appearances for his boyhood club.

Munir becomes Sevilla's second signing of the day, following their capture of Ajax defender Max Wober earlier on Friday.
