Sevilla confirm interest in Alvaro Morata as Chelsea search for new striker

This season Alvaro Morata has played in 24 games for Chelsea in all competitions scoring just five nine goals.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke has spoken positively about the possibility of Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata joining the club.

Sevilla have been linked with a move for Morata, with the La Liga side's director of football Joaquin Caparros confirming their interest in signing him.

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has surely been one of the biggest flops that the Blues fans have seen in recent years.

Simeone sees him as someone who can improve his team's attack, with former Chelsea man Diego Costa now struggling with injury problems.

Sevilla were in the running for the 26-year-old but given they may now sign Munir El Haddadi this month, rather than wait until the summer, Atletico could have a clear run towards Morata.

"I think [Higuain's] scored about six goals for Milan having had a very good season with Juventus", he said.

Morata arrived at the club from Real Madrid in 2017 and since then the player has not been able to secure a first team spot.

Atletico have reportedly joined the race to bring Morata back to Spain but head coach Simeone was coy following Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Girona in the Copa del Rey. 'I don't speak about players that aren't with us, only those that are. "We need to wait until January 31", he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

The Spanish League giants will only get the chance to sign the former Los Blancos forward if they also sell a couple of players this transfer window. "It's all too complicated, it sounds very unusual". "We played well in the second half".
