Steve Buscemi's Wife Jo Andres Dead at 65

Emmy Award-winning actor Steve Buscemi's wife Jo Andres has died at the age of 65.

Buscemi and Andres Wednesday in 1987 and welcomed a son, who they named Lucian, together in 1990.

The family reportedly began the funeral procession from their home with multiple of Buscemi's costars, family and friends in attendance.

Her cause of death has not yet been released, however it's said the mother-of-one died earlier this week surrounded by both family and friends. The film served as a precursor to her own directorial debut, 1996's Black Kites, which starred their son Lucian, aired on PBS, and made the rounds at several film festivals, including Sundance, Berlin, Toronto, London and Human Rights Watch Film Festivals.

During an interview in 2009, the Boardwalk Empire and Reservoir Dogs star, 61, said his favourite work of art was "something by my wife Jo Andres".

Andres and Buscemi attended their final event together just seven months ago in New York City. According to RadarOnline, his brother, Michael, and son, Lucian, helped carry the wicker casket. In the wake of 9/11 Buscemi worked as a volunteer firefighter. Andres' website describes the film, which is based on 1992 journals of Bosnian visual artist Alma Hajric, who was forced into a basement shelter to survive the siege of Sarajevo, as "non-linear, dreamlike and spectral". "She paints, she makes films, she has done performance".

"If we don't have a place where artists can [have] a voice then it's a loss from the whole culture", Andres told NBC News in 2011.
