Teen crashes auto after driving blindfolded for Bird Box challenge

And the "Bird Box" challenge involves people blindfolding themselves and trying to live life normally. They reportedly called out the Bird Box Challenge specifically.

On Monday afternoon, the unnamed teen drove on the highway with her beanie hat pulled over her eyes.

"Bird Box Challenge while driving... predictable result", the department said.

A teen driver attempting a new and risky fad inspired by a Netflix movie caused a crash earlier this week, Layton Police say.

"Apparently, as a part of this 'Bird Box Challenge, ' (the driver) used her beanie to pull over her eyes as she was driving on Layton Parkway, and she ended up losing control of her vehicle and skidded into the westbound lanes of Layton Parkway and hit another auto and ended up hitting a light pole as well". "It really puts everybody at risk".

As for the teen, she now faces reckless driving charges.

Lt. Travis Lyman, Layton Police, said the 17-year-old girl driving the pickup truck was with a 16-year-old boy when she chose to attempt the "Bird Box Challenge" and used a beanie as an impromptu blindfold. "We don't know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl" - a reference to the two unnamed children of Bullock's character - "have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes".
