The Trailer For Netflix Horror 'Velvet Buzzsaw' Looks Like A victor

Watch the trailer, a United Kingdom exclusive first look, below.

The story is an abstract one. The problem? Well, a woman who is not an artists tries to pass off her dead neighbours art as hers, and that doesn't turn out well at all. In the short peek at the movie, we see Gyllenhaal descending into a murk of madness as paintings begin to move and lash out.

Netflix describes the film to set somewhere between "where big money artists and mega-collectors pay a high price when art collides with commerce".

The cast also includes Rene Russo - another Nightcrawler alumni - John Malkovich, Toni Collette, Zawe Ashton, Tom Sturridge and Billy Magnussen.

Gyllenhaal plays Morf Vandewalt, a highly critical dealer in the high stakes world of modern art.

Jake Gyllenhaal and writer/director Dan Gilroy have melded well together in the past when they worked on "Nightcrawler", so the idea of them teaming up again has me excited and the concept for this movie is pretty engrossing. And he co-wrote Kong: Skull Island with Max Borenstein and Derek Connolly.

Like many projects from Netflix, we won't have long to wait after seeing the Velvet Buzzsaw trailer.

As the trailer says, Velvet Buzzsaw will make its official debut at the Sundance Film Festival later this month, before making its streaming debut on Netflix on February 1, 2019.
