Tim Tebow celebrates engagement at Disney World

Tebow and his new fiancee, Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, spent Friday in Walt Disney World Resort after announcing their engagement on Instagram.

Tebow set the stage for the ideal proposal by taking his bride-to-be on a sunset walk around his family's farm just outside Jacksonville. The Heisman Trophy victor announced his engagement on Instagram Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019 to Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, a South Africa native and the 2017 Miss Universe. "Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, will you marry me?"

The round-cut center stone is an eye-popping 7.25 carats, according to People. The proposal took place at his family's farm outside of Jacksonville.

"I actually wasn't really nervous", Tebow said to People. Family and friends joined the couple immediately afterward to celebrate. "But I wasn't nervous to actually ask her".

For Tebow, the new relationship was a long time coming.

"First and foremost all the glory goes to my Heavenly Father and savior, Jesus Christ", she wrote.

This development was revealed by the happy couple via Instagram, where the athlete posted a photo of himself proposing to his sweetheart on one knee, writing in the caption that Demi-Leigh made him "the happiest man in the world", adding that he can't wait to spend the rest of his life with her.

"I can't believe I'm going to spend the rest of my life with her", Tebow told PEOPLE just moments after the engagement.
