Toyota Supra makes full debut in official video leak

The revived Toyota Supra series will celebrate its global debut at the Detroit Motor Show on January 14, 2019.

As we mentioned in the title, the 2020 Supra comes with an athletic look, from the proportions (check out the short overhangs, for instance) to details like the bootlid spoiler and the double bubble roof.

Public premiere of the coupe, built on a common platform with the current BMW Z4, will be held on 14 Jan at 16:40 Kyiv time in the framework of the North American worldwide auto show (NAIAS) in Detroit Cobo center. This provides our first non-camouflaged and complete look at the Supra. Unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon which is now taking place, the GR Supra Racing concept hints towards a vehicle developed for the Super GT sportscar championship - with earlier incarnations of the sports vehicle competing in that championship's predecessor, the Japanese Grand Touring Championship. To the series is not reached and a sharp nose, raised hood with a transparent window, the side mirrors on thin legs and a narrow head optics.

Toyota's ambitions for the Supra also involve the racetrack. Also, it will feature a similar engine.

For the 2020 season, Super GT is adopting "Class One" rules developed together with DTM, which unifies the two series' technical regulations. Additional engine options will be available down the line, and while nothing has been confirmed yet, it's rumored this will include a hybrid version and four-cylinder turbo.
