59 new emojis coming in 2019 to promote gender and racial inclusivity

A hand gesture that suggests someone has a "tiny penis" is among 230 new emojis released for 2019 - delighting social media users who say it really fills a gap in the market. In the video below, you'll get a look at majority.

Dubbed 'Emoji 12.0, ' the new list contains 59 distinct new emojis.

Emoji lovers can look forward to several new animal emoji, including sloth, otter, flamingo, orangutan, and skunk. A March 5th update to Unicode will make the emojis usable online, but each company will choose when to introduce their own versions of the new emojis.

These are just a few of the newly approved emojis arriving in 2019. Interestingly, a white heart emoji was one for the most requested among emoji users, those users will be happy to know that it has also been included in the new emoji set.

Also making the cut: yawning face and "pinching hand". When you take into account gender variations, that jumps to 75, and when you consider skin tone options, Emoji 12.0 offers 230 new emojis.

This year, more people are represented including those with various disabilities-previously advocated by Apple-and people with different skin tone mixes and more.
