Anthem endgame video shows contracts, Strongholds, Cataclysms, more

The first post-launch content will released in March and will be the first of 3 initial acts.

The first details on Anthem's post-launch and endgame content have been revealed.

We discussed Anthem's Cataclysm events (and other endgame things) with executive producer Mark Darrah earlier this month.

Once players have completed the campaign, they will be able to dig their teeth into Challenges, Contracts, Freeplay, and Strongholds, which will comprise a large part of Anthem's endgame.

Update one will focus on "Evolving the world" of Anthem, presumably injecting some life into the otherwise stale freeplay environments, while the "Stronger Together" update will add more social features to the mix.

"They're created to be more seasonal", executive producer Mark Darrah said to GamesRadar of the event.

For more on Anthem, be sure to check out a breakdown of what Anthem's Endgame content will look like from a gameplay perspective, as well as 10 minutes of a Legendary Contract on Anthem's challenging Grandmaster I difficulty. The last three tiers are only unlocked when you reach Pilot Level 30.

EA said that new missions, characters, and stories will be introduced over "the weeks and months to come", some of them small and others world-changing: The "most ambitious and challenging" new content will come in the form of Cataclysms, "time-limited world events that cause physical manifestations to occur: Extreme weather, incursions of risky hostile enemies, and new mysteries to solve". Challenges will award you with coins and crafting materials, while strongholds are team-required missions with some of the biggest rewards. In the game, you take the role of a Freelancer, donning an array of customisable exosuits called Javelins. Contracts will allow players to increase their reputation with different factions, granting them access to crafting blueprints.
