Baltimore Boxer Gervonta Davis Wins Title Fight

Junior lightweight world titleholder Gervonta "Tank" Davis could be back in the ring as soon as April - but not for an official fight. Ruiz fought Davis after replacing former world champion, Abner Mares, who withdrew from the fight after injuring his right eye during a training session.

"He got an exhibition bout with the guy Tenshin in Japan, in April".

Last night, Floyd Mayweather protege Gervonta Davis delivered a thunderous, first-round knockout win over short-notice replacement opponent Hugo Ruiz, retaining his WBA super-featherweight belt in the process.

"He was really hurt, that nose was broken earlier and then he got hit on it again". Yes he's fighting Tenshin in an exhibition bout in Japan'.

"I'm proud of Tank, and he's gonna stay active", Mayweather said. "So first it's Tenshin in April and then in May it's the real fight", Mayweather said.

American boxing superstar Floyd "Money" Mayweather is never shy about his wealth, and the 41-year-old Las Vegas native took things to a new level in a recent Instagram post.

During a scrum with reporters after the fight, Mayweather, with Davis at his side, said that the 24-year-old Baltimore fighter would head to Japan to face Nasukawa in a boxing exhibition this spring. Mayweather won the fight with a lopsided first-round knockout.

Davis registered his 20th knockout win in 21 fights as Ruiz, who just fought and won against Alberto Guevarra on the Pacquiao-Broner undercard last January 19, didn't know what hit him.

By the end of the fight, Nasukawa was reduced to tears, such was the onslaught that he faced at the hands of his rival.
