Chiron '110 ans Bugatti' revealed

This year, Bugatti will celebrate its 110th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, it is offering a special edition of the Chiron Sport.

There aren't any mechanical upgrades, so the "110 ans Bugatti" is forced to make do with the same 1,500hp and 1,180lb ft as the standard Chiron Sport's 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 produces, although it also benefits from the same 18kg weight saving over the standard vehicle thanks to all that carbon fibre. The Bleu-Blanc-Rouge flag that symbolizes the union between the monarch and people of France is featured on the retractable wing, door mirrors, fuel filler cap, and seats. Just in case the Francophile in you remains unsated, the underside of the enormous rear spoiler boasts a French flag across its entire width, displayed in all its glory whenever the airbrake is called into action.

The rear of the auto is finished in matte Steel Blue paintwork (contrasting with the matte black exhaust system), with the "C" shaped element surrounding the passenger compartment painted in the same hue. Bugatti says the cap is sandblasted before being hand polished to achieve its lovely finish, with the '"110 ans Bugatti' emblem and the Tricolore running vertically through it". The sports steering wheel comes finished with a matt carbon fibre with a blue leather cover. The recently added Sky View glass panel roof, optional on the standard Chiron, is also made standard, while a solid silver medallion mounted on a carbonfibre plate is fitted to the centre console. It was "light, small and nimble with an adequate power output". The Chiron, which has been made since 2016 in weeks of hand crafting, is a modern luxury hyper sports auto that fits seamlessly into the Bugatti family tree. It combines the technical excellence, style and iconic character of the historic vehicles, reinterpreting them as the renaissance of legendary cars produced by a legendary brand. Bugatti quotes a 2.4-second 0-100km/h time, 6.1 second 0-200 and 13.1 sec 0-300, with a top speed of 420km/h. Keep your foot on the pedal and you'll hit 400 km/h in 32.6 seconds before maxing out at 420 km/h. Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. said: "Molsheim in the Alsace region of France is an essential element in Bugatti's brand history and this is also where we are planning our future".
