Christian Hackenberg Forgets He’s Mic’d Up During Game

When general manager Mike Maccagnan drafted Hackenberg, some thought the former Penn State star might develop into the Jets' elusive franchise QB. He was traded to the Oakland Raiders in May of 2018, but was cut in June, then signed and cut by the Philadelphia Eagles before spending two months on the Cincinnati Bengals' practice squad last season.

If you're itching to watch football and you'd like to see what some former Ravens are up to, you should tune into the new Alliance of American Football (AAF). The Express faced off against the Birmingham Iron in their first official game of the inaugural season. "I wish I had this five years ago".

Quarterbacks are mic'd up in the AAF, but Hackenberg seemed to forget that.

The league's first games, which aired Saturday on CBS, averaged 2.913 million viewers, according to Sports TV Ratings.

Wolford finished the night completing 18 of 29 attempts for 275 yards and scores of 5, 36, 4 and 30 yards with a pair of two-point conversion passing scores sprinkled in.

Hackenberg was benched late in the contest, as quarterback Brandon Silvers replaced him in the second half of the fourth quarter.

There are 8 teams in the AAF, with rosters consisting of local players.
