‘Game of Thrones’ Creators Confirm a Most Horrible and Shocking Death

Game of Thrones showrunner David Benioff just confirmed a tragic off-screen death in the show: King Tommen's beloved cat, Ser Pounce.

"Game of Thrones" has killed off more fan favorites than can easily be counted, but the saddest death may have just occurred offscreen. During Margaery's night time visit with Tommen, the cat hops on the bed between them, showing Tommen's innocence and Margaery's new tactics for seducing a new boy-king.

Cersei hated the name "Ser Pounce" so much she could not allow him to survive.

The skirmish started when Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister on the HBO hit, posted a fresh-faced video.

Benioff explains what happened to The Royal Feline of House Baratheon.

Elsewhere, Benioff has also confessed how hard it was to work with the cat because you know how cats listen to themselves.

But apparently not. Cause of death for Ser Pounce?

Following the backlash, actress Emilia Clarke came out in support of her and applauded her response writing, "Preach lovely woman".

"Ser Pounce's death was so disgusting we couldn't even put it on the air", Benioff claimed.

Cape Town - Game of Thrones is known for its vicious deaths but there was one so bad we didn't even see it on screen.

And given that the cats have their own agendas means that one of the white walkers have retrieved it and that later, it would come back to attack Cersei.

The showrunners don't sound as though they'll miss Ser Pounce too much.
