Georgia basketball team loses after fan throws stuffed animal on the court

Weatherspoon sank one of three free throws with the game on the line, giving him a career-high 31 points and lifting Mississippi State to a 68-67 win over Georgia on Wednesday night.

The Athens Banner-Herald reported that the teams were tied when Mississippi State's Quinndary Weatherspoon was fouled with 0.5 seconds to play. "I don't know who did that but man, I would be so frustrated if I were his (Georgia coach Tom Crean) team, the University of Georgia, to have that happen".

After the cuddly court invasion, Crean rushed to the scorer's table and grabbed the public-address microphone to ask the home fans to cut it out, but it was too late to avoid the technical foul.

A Mississippi State player was sent to the line and missed the first free throw. After missing the first, an adorable and cuddly stuffed animal skidded across the court. The Bulldogs were aided in their quest by a rogue teddy bear, which was foolishly thrown onto the court by a fan with the game tied and.5 seconds remaining. After he purposely missed the final free throw, Georgia did not have enough time to get off a shot before the buzzer sounded.

Well, this is something we've never seen before.

Georgia dropped to 1-12 in the SEC this year, but the Bulldogs do have one of the nation's top recruit, Anthony Edwards, joining the program next season. Mississippi State improved to 19-7, 7-6 in the conference.
