IPL 2019 Schedule: Opening match between CSK and RCB on March 23

As per the schedule, defending champions Chennai Super Kings will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match on March 23.

The schedule, however, is subject to the announcement of the Lok Sabha 2019 election dates.

The phase one of the IPL 2019 schedule had been announced yesterday wherein each team will play will at least four matches across eight venues. Every team will play a minimum of two home and two away matches with DC playing three home matches, while RCB will play three away matches.

On March 24, Kolkata Knight Riders will host Sunrisers Hyderabad in the afternoon encounter of a double header in which Mumbai Indians will take on Delhi Capitals in Mumbai. Chennai Super Kings' command is in the hands of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, while Virat Kohli will lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The BCCI and CoA on Tuesday announced the schedule for the upcoming fixtures for the IPL's 12 edition, two of the strongest contenders look like already were in for the battle.

March 24 - Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals - 8 p.m.

Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab will meet each other in Jaipur to complete the first round of games.
