Leeds winger Clarke out of hospital after illness scare

The 18-year-old is a product of the Leeds' academy and has been making the right waves in the English second division, in what is his debut campaign.

Jack Clarke was taken to hospital after being treated by paramedics during Leeds United's draw with Middlesbrough this afternoon.

The Championship game was stopped for seven minutes due to the incident and it has been confirmed that Clarke was taken to hospital for further assessment.

Clarke has since been released but chief executive Angus Kinnear has informed fans of the decision taken by the club. "We don't know the reasons yet, but when he was taken to the dressing room he was feeling better".

Jack Clarke has come up through the ranks at Leeds and this season the winger has grabbed a lot of eyeballs with his fine performances in the Championship.

The rumours have it that if Leeds can secure promotion to the Premier League next season then they might make a move for James Milner and Liverpool are willing to offload the midfielder in return for Clarke.

Leeds went on to score a last-gasp equaliser in the 12 minutes of stoppage time, and manager Marcelo Bielsa revealed after the game that the promising teenager had shown signs of improvement before being taken to hospital.

They report that Bielsa was planning to drop Kalvin Phillips out of his side and bring Forshaw back into the fold to face his former club.

Sheffield United lie in third position - three points off Leeds - after missing a golden opportunity of going top themselves surrendering a 3-0 lead on Friday to be held 3-3 by Aston Villa.
