Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary

Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary

How will you be able to spot the 30th Anniversary Miata on the street once they are delivered to buyers?

Only 3,000 units will be made worldwide, with 500 already earmarked for the United States market.

The 30th Anniversary Edition MX-5 Miata wears a special shade of Racing Orange paint, which Mazda says is an evolution of the yellow hue that adorned the original '89 Club Racer show vehicle.

Mazda originally planned to use the yellow color found on the original 1989 Miata but wanted to go further than simply reusing an old color.

The legendary, oh-so-loveable MX-5 has now turned 30.

Whether you like MX-5s or not, there can be no denying the impact it's had on the world of sports cars. Later on, Mazda realised the Miata name still had brand resonance, so the company compromised and it became the MX-5 Miata in North America, a name it carries to this day. GT models replace 16-inch.

Mazda has also fitted the 30th Anniversary cars with a unique wheel design, manufactured by RAYS Co., finished in a dark gunmetal color and styled after the wheels worn by Global MX-5 Cup race cars.

The unique hue is also used for the car's brake calipers, and throughout the interior, including the stitching, seat piping, vent surrounds, and door trim.

The auto had some unique options and features that made it so attractive to buyers. Mazda offered this model in four basic configurations: soft top with automatic transmission, retractable fastback with automatic transmission, soft top with manual transmission and retractable fastback with manual transmission. Like every other US-spec Miata, our 30th Anniversary Edition will be powered by a 2.0-liter I4 engine, producing 181 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque.

Hard to believe, but it's been 30 years since the original Mazda Miata flipped up its headlights and said hello to the world.

Want one? You'll have to move fast, as only 3000 cars are available worldwide.
