NY murder: Venezuela man arrested after woman found in suitcase

Reyes, of New Rochelle, New York, had been reported missing on January 30 when she did not show up for work.

Reyes was fully clothed when she was found. She just said, 'I'm scared.

Police in New Rochelle, NY have announced that Valerie Reyes' ex-boyfriend Javier da Silva has been arrested in connection with her death. I'm paranoid, mommy. I'm getting anxiety attacks, She was having a hard time talking'.

Afterwards, he said he put packing tape over her mouth, bound her legs and hands and put her in a suitcase he later put in his auto.

The Greenwich Police are investigating her death along with the assistance of the New Rochelle Police and other agencies.

The suitcase was found on the side of a road in Greenwich, Connecticut. Sanchez said the family isn't sure why she traveled to the city and it now appears that the card was actually used by Silva.

Greenwich police Tuesday identified the suspect in the killing of Valerie Reyes as Javier DeSilva, who was arrested in Queens, N.Y. Law enforcement sources told the outlet that DeSilva, who was arrested in the borough of Queens on Monday night, made admissions in the death, including telling officers that it occurred in New Rochelle.

The arrest followed the police investigation of multiple crime scenes, reviewing hundreds of hours of surveillance footage, and interviews multiple potential witnesses, the Greenwich Police Department said in a press release on Tuesday.

Aiello spoke with Reyes' mother, Norma Sanchez, earlier on Tuesday.

Greenwich Police Captain Robert Berry issued a statement last week relaying the community's "heartfelt condolences".

Highway maintenance workers carrying out a routine sweep found her barefoot with her shirt unbuttoned and her hands bound behind her back.

Her ex-boyfriend had just moved out, the Journal News reported.

Reyes had worked at a Barnes & Noble store in Eastchester, New York, since it opened two-and-a-half years ago, according to the bookstore chain.

Reyes lived alone in a basement apartment in New Rochelle and suffered at times from anxiety and depression, WABC reported. I kept praying that she would tell me, she would give me hints, a name or something ...

Police said tips have been pouring in with leads in her horrific and sudden slaying.
