Raptors survive Knicks in Gasol's debut

Toronto Raptors' new addition Marc Gasol will make his debut with the team Saturday against the New York Knicks according to The Athletic's Blake Murphy.

Gasol's Raptors beat the New York Knicks 104-99 at Madison Square Garden.

Kevin Knox scored 20 points, and DeAndre Jordan posted a double-double with 10 points and 18 rebounds for the Knicks, who tied a franchise record by losing their 16th straight game.

The Knicks' Kadeem Allen had a career-high 14 points.

And when pressed, Leonard added: "I want to focus on this season".

In other roster news, Kawhi Leonard is expected to play vs. the Knicks.

When pressed, Leonard backed away. "Just talk to people, see what I want to do". He was asked after the game about what surprised him and said the fan support they had in an opponent's building.

Jose Calderon picked up a lot of assists while playing for the Toronto Raptors - 4,288 regular season dimes and another 67 in the playoffs to be exact. They also tied the game three times early in the fourth quarter before Robinson's old-fashioned three-point play gave them an 86-85 lead - their first since a 38-36 advantage with 3:48 left in the second quarter.

The Italian assistant coach, who has led Spain's national team to three Eurobasket gold medals and a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, glowed about some of the attributes that Toronto's prized acquisition brings to the court.

The Knicks visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night.
