Red Bull unveil their first Honda-powered car

Red Bull unleashed a special-edition livery with the revamped paint job featuring substantially more red, but it is understood the former world champions will revert to their normal colours in time for the season-opening race in Melbourne on March 17. Also, the livery is very handsome, even though it's only for today.

"Progress is obviously our target", Horner said. We've obviously been able to strike at venues that have suited the characteristics of our vehicle, winning four races last year - should have been five - and three races the year before.

"I am very excited to get started as the off-season has been quite long", said Verstappen. "It felt good and we had no problems, so very happy with that". "I really want to feel how it upshifts, downshifts, how the driveability is, how much power there is".

"The buzz really starts at the beginning of the year when you see the auto coming together".

Toro Rosso finished ninth of 10 teams past year with the Honda engine but Red Bull has sounded optimistic about the progress made by the Japanese manufacturer.

"With Honda, we're expecting a lot, we're all very positive but I think it also needs to take a little bit of time, it can not be from race one it will be ideal". I am optimistic, but also realistic and only time will tell as to how we will get on.

Ricciardo has left Red Bull to join Renault with Verstappen to be partnered by young Frenchman Pierre Gasly. Now we can go testing properly, we'll see what we can get out of that and we'll be able to understand the vehicle and the engine a bit better.

What's changing on the Formula 1 2019 cars? You fight against teams like Ferrari, Mercedes, Renault and when you start a new partnership, it always takes time before things run super smoothly and in the most efficient way.

Both teams also gave their cars a track debut with a shakedown session at Silverstone, which will host this year's British Grand Prix.
