Sarri’s response to Hazard saying he has made decision on his future

Sarri’s response to Hazard saying he has made decision on his future

The Belgian has less than 18 months left on his contract and is wanted by Real Madrid in the summer.

Eden Hazard has been the rumour mill's favourite customer ever since he made his debut for Lille.

Hazard's comments have inevitably led to reports that he plans to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.

With less than 18 months left on the 28-year old's current contract at Stamford Bridge, speculation suggests the Belgium global will trade in London for the Bernabéu this summer, and coach Sarri thinks Hazard should choose what makes him most happy.

He told Radio Marca on Thursday: "If Hazard has said that he already made his decision, then I think it's because he'll renew his contract with Chelsea".

"Let's see what he decides to do".

Hazard has won two Premier League titles in six and a half years at Stamford Bridge, also lifting the League Cup, FA Cup and Europa League.

The striker had been struggling for goals and to feature in the starting line-up at Chelsea since his arrival from Real Madrid in 2016 and never properly settled in England. He did not reveal the decision just yet but Cesc Fabregas, who is a very good friend of Hazard, has some insight.

He has always said that he has dreamt about playing for the Spanish giants and when Zidane, his favourite player, was the manager of Los Blancos, it looked like there was nothing to stop him from moving to Bernabeu.

"Chelsea is not about Higuain and Hazard, it is about 25 players".

Sarri said: "I think we will be able to fight for the top four this season. I still believe that", he said. I'm not sure. Maybe they think I can, but I know myself and I don't think I can.

"When you look at what he's done in the short space of time that he's been there".

"At the moment he is really very keen, so I think that he can play a really very good season, or the last part of the season".
