Sen. Elizabeth Warren Formally Launches 2020 Presidential Run

"We're going to chase after those every day?"

On Monday, comedian Seth Meyers ridiculed President Donald Trump over his latest racist tweets and comments.

In a tweet, Trump called Warren "Pocahontas" and said he would see her 'on the campaign TRAIL'.

Elizabeth Warren officially launched her presidential campaign - and within 24 hours rolled out her version of "Lock Her Up!"

2020 Democratic hopeful Elizabeth Warren escalated her war-of-words with the White House over the weekend; telling a packed crowd of supporters President Trump may be in prison by the time American voters head to the polls in November 2020.

'What are we as candidates, as activists, as the press, going to do about it?

Warren hasn't directly mentioned the president since she first announced her exploratory campaign on New Year's Eve.

The more traction Warren's campaign gains, though, the more it undermines her claim that "the rich and powerful have rigged our political system", writes Ira Stoll. "In fact, he may not even be a free person".

She also apologized to the Cherokee Nation for muddying the waters about tribal citizenship when she released a DNA test in October purporting to vindicate her longtime claims of Native American ancestry.

When asked to clarify her statements, Warren pointed to the multiple open investigations into the president, which includes the Russian Federation probe by Special Counsel Robert Mueller and two additional investigations led by federal prosecutors in NY and Democrats who won back the majority in the House of Representatives this past November. Warren formally kicked off her bid for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination before a crowd of about 3,500 supporters in MA on Saturday.

With last month's indictment of Roger Stone, Trump's longtime friend and adviser, 34 people have been charged in the Mueller investigation, and six Trump associates have pleaded guilty. She is one of two Native American women in Congress.

"Over the years, America's middle class has been deliberately hollowed out, and families of color have been systematically discriminated against and denied their chance to build some security", she said (transcript via Frank Camp).
