WAPO: Trump spent $50K on golf simulator for White House

President Trump has brought his golf game into the White House.

The Washington Post is reporting that Trump recently had a massive, $50,000 golf simulator installed in the White House.

Except, this wasn't much of a story at all. The simulated was an upgrade of an older and less sophisticated simulator that had been installed under President Obama.

It's no secret that President Donald Trump loves to play golf.

An unnamed White House official told the Post that Trump personally paid for the new system and installation costs, but said the president hasn't used the system during his so-called executive time or at all since it was put in.

However, Trump has spent significantly more of his time as President golfing than Obama.

Trump also appears to play more physical golf than Obama did, averaging 70 games a year to Obama's 38, according to Golf Digest. President Dwight Eisenhower had the first White House putting green installed in 1954 with financial help from the USGA and private donors. President Richard Nixon built a single-lane bowling alley.

Trump did stop playing golf for 69 days before and during the government shutdown (how nice of him), but he apparently complained to friends that he missed playing golf in Florida at his Mar-a-Lago resort, according to the Post.
