What Unai Emery told Alex Iwobi after Huddersfield win

The Gunners are now fifth, one point behind a resurgent Manchester United who have been in great form since the appointment of an interim manager, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer who took over from Mourinho.

A couple of months ago when Arsenal were going through their unbeaten run everyone thought that they would finish in the top-four very easily.

"We will try everything to win every game because every point is important so now we can be focused on the Europa League and then back on the Premier League after that", he told the club's official website.

Arsenal's 2-1 triumph at Huddersfield was their fifth away Premier League win of the season - having won four in the whole of the last campaign - but the manner of victory suggested much improvement is still needed.

"I just think Emery is really struggling to find a solution to his defensive problem, especially with his side's injury issues - although Shkodran Mustafi should be fit after limping off against City".

There are twelve games left in the Premier League season and if Arsenal are able to finish on a strong note, getting back into the Champions League will be a real possibility.

Emery didn't mention the second option, despite previously winning the competition three times, perhaps indicating he is confident of his side's capabilities to get the job done in the league.

Unai Emery has defended Arsenal start Alex Iwobi from criticism but says what the 22-year-old must improve on (via The Mirror).

"This season, we don't have a clean sheet away?" asked the goalkeeper when the stat was mentioned by a reporter.

Emery was clearly pleased by this.

"The most important thing is that I come in, in a very hard situation".

Against Huddersfield, the league's bottom side who had not scored a goal in eight hours and 27 minutes before Saturday, Arsenal, even with a two-goal advantage, never looked comfortable and with better finishing the hosts would have made a game of it. Judge us by our work and what the players are doing and this makes me proud.
