Zion Williamson just made the most incredible block

Zion Williamson just made the most incredible block

I was just anxious about this game.

Adding solid 3-point shooting to a team that is already one of the nation's top offensive teams, plus a team that has proven adept defensively, only adds to Duke's wow factor.

The Blue Devils are certainly living up to their ranking.

From the opening tip of the 2018-19 college basketball season, the Duke Blue Devils and the Virginia Cavaliers have been two of the powerhouses in the sport.

Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski said James told him he planned to attend the game, a high-stakes matchup between a pair of powerhouses that might help Duke seal the No. 1 overall seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament.

"It was a big loss", Hunter said of Diakite, who had seven points on 3-for-4 shooting.

Moreover, Jones who missed the first Virginia game with a shoulder injury, contributed 13 points, seven assists, six rebounds and two steals as Duke scored the most points in regulation by any team against the Cavaliers since Tennessee's 87 in December 2013.

You can't blame Virginia coach Tony Bennett for hoping the Blue Devils attempted as many 3-pointers as possible. Kyle Guy and Ty Jerome scored 16 points apiece for Virginia, who couldn't avenge their 72-70 loss to the Blue Devils on January 19.

But, like Brey, Bennett could only shake his head in amazement as Duke singed the nets on the way to an 81-71 over the Cavaliers at John Paul Jones Arena.

Barrett finished with a game-high 26 points on 6-for-10 shooting from beyond the arc.

Duke: Williamson is the player that everyone seems to focus on in pregame warmups because of his physical gifts, but it's Barrett that leads the Blue Devils in scoring (23 points per game to Williamson's 22 entering the game). Former Duke great Grant Hill was also in attendance, as was Ralph Sampson, Virginia's three-time national player of the year. James was dribbling a basketball and laughing as the Blue Devils poured out of the locker room for warm-ups. Duke and Virginia are meeting for the first time in the regular with each team having 20+ wins... Duke's home games in this stretch are back-to-back rivalry match-ups versus NC State and No. 8 North Carolina... They now share first place with North Carolina and have two games left with the Tar Heels.

Duke went to an inside game at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Duke Blue Devils freshman phenom Zion Williamson has made his fair share of incredible plays thus far during his first (and surely only) collegiate season. "We knew nobody else was gonna win the game for us, so we just tried to keep our composure and play the rest of the 20 minutes". They have consistently been among the top five teams in the country, even after they met the first time this season.
