Back 4 Blood Co-Op Zombie Game Announced by Left 4 Dead Creators

While there was no new game released in more than two generations, a spiritual successor Back 4 Blood was announced today. Turtle Rock, who originally worked with Valve on the series, have just announced Back 4 Blood, a co-op zombie shooter which sounds an terrible lot like a spiritual successor to their acclaimed franchise. The game is so early that there isn't even a logo for it yet, but Turtle Rock said in an FAQ that it will be a "premium, AAA title" initially designed for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Turtle Rock and WBIE didn't reveal much else about the title other than the team is going "back to its roots" for this one. "The talented team at Turtle Rock has been developing wonderful games together for a long time, and this is a great opportunity to work with them to create a new gaming universe built specifically with the large co-op zombie shooter community in mind".

"The talented team at Turtle Rock has been developing incredible games together for a long time, and this is a great opportunity to work with them to create a new gaming universe built specifically with the large co-op zombie shooter community in mind", Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will serve as Back 4 Blood's publisher.

Turtle Rock's Chris Ashton also spoke about the project saying, "It's hard to overstate what an awesome opportunity this is. We know that's a tall order", said Turtle Rock co-founder and Creative Director Phil Robb. Right now we are just excited to tell our community what we have been working on!

"We are not resting on any past laurels". It calls "Back 4 Blood" the "biggest challenge in this studio's history". Interactive on a "next-gen cooperative FPS" entitled Back 4 Blood. Turtle Rock is adamant this isn't Left 4 Dead 3, but team members have hinted it'll be at least something of a return to form. The game consisted of several short campaigns in which a group of four players would attempt to make their way to safety with a zombie horde hot on their trail.

"Is this game going to be a Battle Royale game?".

The studio made a decision to announce the game so soon because it is looking for community feedback early on in the development process. We love getting to know and interact with our community and the sooner we can do that, the better!
