Bernie Sanders Cut His Head On Glass Shower Door, Received 7 Stitches

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., one of the frontrunners for the Democratic nomination for president, required stitches Friday morning after hitting his head on the side of a shower door, the New York Post reports.

"We can not just support unions with words, we must back it up with actions", Sanders said.

United Food and Commercial Workers Local 400 will represent the campaign workers as Sanders, an independent USA senator from Vermont, seeks the 2020 Democratic nomination.

"He (Sanders) heads to Nevada this evening and looks forward to his rally in Henderson tomorrow", the statement read.

Campaign workers for Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington state were represented by the Campaign Workers Guild during the fall midterm elections, making her the first incumbent member of Congress with a unionized campaign staff.

A majority of Sanders' campaign workers signed a union card by Friday, triggering the union's recognition, the union said. "And when candidates who claim to support the labor movement practice what they preach, that sends a powerful message that, if elected, they will deliver on their promises to strengthen union rights and level the playing field between workers and employers".
