Chelsea boss Sarri unhappy with 'dangerous' Kiev pitch

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri is unhappy with the Dynamo Kiev pitch for the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie.

Sarri's men, who won last week's first leg encounter at Stamford Bridge with 3-0, trained at the stadium on Wednesday.

Club officials are annoyed that the governing body is strict about the administration that surrounds such fixtures and yet allows a game to go ahead when it could be unsafe for the players.

Loftus-Cheek has found it hard to find regular playing time under Maurizio Sarri so far this season, with the manager preferring a midfield three of Jorginho, N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic.

Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon and Liverpool's Jordan Henderson may take the field in the Premier League match on Sunday

"Jorginho is very important for us, a very good player". It's really unsafe to play any football here in this moment, and I think it's really very risky for injuries.

I think Ruben has absolutely everything and to be fair he's had a few injury problems this season.
I understand Chelsea fans want to see more of him and he has to do everything he can to give himself the chance of minutes. It's really risky to play any football here in this moment, and I think it's really very unsafe for injuries.

"The pitch is very, very risky", he told reporters this week. "There isn't another solution, but I can not understand why Uefa are so, so (concerned) about having to present the player list at a certain minute, but then we have to play in such a bad pitch". "Sometimes that's not possible. I hope it can be agreed that he can stay at Chelsea".

"We just need to continue to play in the same way".
