James Gunn rehired to direct 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3'

Ant-Man director Peyton Reed reacted to Disney reinstating James Gunn Gunn as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Deadline's report indicated that Gunn's apology played a big role in Disney's decision to bring him back for Guardians 3.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 3", which has already been delayed, will be delayed a little longer in order for Gunn to wrap "Suicide Squad" before returning to the Marvel Studios.

According to Fleming's report, Horn actually made a decision to rehire Gunn "months ago", and Marvel "never met with or considered any other director" for the third "Guardians" installment.

While Gunn's jokes were beyond poor taste, they were also many years old and from another era of his life, and Gunn was never anything but apologetic in the aftermath. Disney, a family company that doesn't truck with that sort of thing, fired Gunn, who was immediately contrite and took full responsibility for his dumb awful tweets.

"It's not to say I'm better, but I am very, very different than I was a few years ago; today I try to root my work in love and connection and less in anger".

James Gunn has received a second chance. In the past, I have apologised for humour of mine that hurt people. While it was initially meant to debut in May 2020 prior to Gunn's firing, Gunn has since signed on to direct Warner Bros.' Suicide Squad sequel, reportedly titled The Suicide Squad.

Gunn earlier apologized for the tweets, which he called "unfortunate efforts to be provocative". Persuaded by Gunn's public apology and his handling of the situation after, and the rallying-around exhibited by the likes of stars Dave Bautista, Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana, Horn made a decision to reverse course and reinstate Gunn.

Deadline confirmed the news with Marvel and Gunn's reps.

"I'm doing a big Hollywood film adaptation of The Giving Tree with a happy ending - the tree grows back and gives the kid a blowjob", Gunn said in 2011.

This will please all Guardians of the Galaxy and James Gunn fans and we hope that this gets confirmed by Marvel soon.
