National Football League suspends Kareem Hunt eight games

"I respect the league's decision on discipline, and I appreciate the time I spent with Commissioner (Roger) Goodell last week".

Release of the video from the February incident, and the fact that Hunt had lied about it, prompted the Kansas City Chiefs to release the running back on November 30.

Kareem Hunt, #27 of the Kansas City Chiefs, in a game against the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on October 28, 2018.

"PFS Agency stands behind our client, Kareem Hunt, in his decision to accept the suspension handed down by the National Football League today", Saffron said. The disturbance involved several people, and Hunt was seen shoving the woman before kicking her as she scrambled to get off the floor. He was also investigated for an incident in June 2017 at a resort in Ohio. After that, Hunt was accused of a violent encounter with a man at an OH resort in June 2018. The Browns signed Hunt to a one-year contract in February after general manager John Dorsey ― who drafted Hunt as GM of the Chiefs ― and owner Jimmy Haslam reviewed the situation and discussed appropriate steps toward contrition with Hunt.

As we know, violating the NFL's drug policy or allegedly deflating footballs is worthy of a four-game suspension from the league.

No charges have been filed by police. McCarthy said Hunt will not be disciplined for that.

- Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 15, 2019Kareem Hunt's agency has released a statement on the NFL's announcement of an 8-game suspension.

Dorsey has been unwavering in his support of Hunt. "I know he has been diligently working on that".

Hunt will be able to participate in the Browns' minicamps and three weeks of organized team activity practices.

Hunt led the National Football League in rushing in 2017, and had 824 yards in 11 games in 2018 before being released.

Hunt rushed for 2,151 yards and 15 touchdowns in two years with Kansas City and is widely considered one of the best running backs in the league.

Trade rumors have surrounded passing-down back Duke Johnson since the moment Hunt was signed. He was enjoying a similarly successful season in 2018 before his release with 824 yards rushing, 378 yards receiving and 14 total touchdowns.
