NBC Renews The Blacklist for Season 7

The Blacklist will be back!

Many fans have been awaiting the news about whether The Blacklist would be returning for another season.

Season 6 is airing now on Fridays.

The series, which returned for its latest season on January 3, joins a list of other NBC series to score early renewals, including the entire Chicago franchise, New Amsterdam, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place, Superstore and Will & Grace.

"Congratulations to our awesome producers, cast and crew, all of whom continue to work at the top of their game and make "The Blacklist" one of NBC's signature series", Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, Co-Presidents of Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. Debuting on September 23, 2013, the series stars James Spader as Raymond "Red" Reddington, a former U.S. Navy officer turned high-profile criminal who voluntarily surrenders to the Federal Bureau of Investigation after eluding capture for decades.

In addition to Spader, Boone, Klattenhoff and Lennix, The Blacklist also stars Amir Arison, Mozhan Marnò and Hisham Tawfiq.

The Blacklist remains a strong performer for the network, with an average of 7.3 million overall viewers per week, including live and delayed-viewing audiences. In its first two weeks "The Blacklist" averaged a live+same day rating of 3.6, 10-share in adults 18-49 and 12 million viewers. The drama ranks as the 2018-2019 primetime season's top-rated "most upscale drama" among the four major networks with adults between 18-49 years old and earning $100k.

"The Blacklist" now airs in the Friday 9 p.m. ET hour out of "Blindspot".

The Blacklist was created by Jon Bokenkamp, who is an executive producer along with John Davis, John Eisendrath, John Fox, Joe Carnahan and Spader.

"The Blacklist" is a production of Davis Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures Television and Universal Television".
