New Zealand shooting: Brenton Tarrant called for attack on 'invader' Sadiq Khan

"Just heard news of the devastating reports from New Zealand Christchurch", Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie, 29, tweeted on March 15. "My heart and thoughts go out to the victims, families and everyone affected by this tragedy".

In the video, dozens appeared to be wounded or deceased, with reports circulating that a gunman opened fire at another Christchurch mosque. While the graphic video was removed from Facebook, it spread all across social media. He is against mass immigration and 'has to some extent the same themes as Breivik, ' who posted his 1,500-page manifesto online before carrying out his deadly attacks.

He said he wanted to "take revenge" for Europeans lost to terror attacks in Europe, and it appears that he was most outraged by the death of Ebba Akerlund, a Stockholm schoolgirl who was one of the four people killed by a Muslim asylum-seeker who drove a hijacked lorry into a crowd in April 2017. In addition, 48 people have been injured and are now being treated at a Christchurch hospital.

Investigators were said to be trying to establish whether or not the other two people arrested were involved in the attacks.

Relief groups like the New Zealand Red Cross are already helping the community register missing persons, connect with loved ones, or mark themselves safe.

The police commissioner would not confirm the shooter's name is Brenton Tarrant during the press conference.

"Police are responding with its full capability to manage the situation, but the risk environment remains extremely high", he said in a release on Friday.

I have been in contact this morning with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to express the UK's deepest condolences at the horrifying terrorist attack that took place at two mosques in Christchurch.
