Real Madrid to sign Porto's Militao in 50m euros deal

Real Madrid to sign Porto's Militao in 50m euros deal

The Spanish giants announced the transfer on their official website this morning.

Real Madrid have confirmed the arrival of Zinedine Zidane's first signing after his return as the club as sealed a massive deal for Brazilian defender Eder Militão.

"Multi-purpose player, Militao plays central, although he has also occupied the right-back position".

But Real Madrid have won the race for the Brazilian and are happy with the deal.

A man who made his senior global debut for Brazil in September 2018 will join a defensive unit in Spain which has been far from watertight this season.

"His speed, positioning and anticipation are his greatest assets, while he is also strong in the air".

The centre-back, who started his professional career with Sao Paulo before moving to Porto in August 2018, has been linked with a number of European clubs in recent months.

He has scored three goals and picked up two assists in 34 appearances for the Portuguese side, with his displays catching the eye of Madrid.

"He's a key piece of the meanest defence in Portugal, and has been voted the championship's best defender in September, October, November, December and January".

Militao only arrived in European football during the summer of 2018.

The 21-year-old has caught the attention of Europe's biggest clubs with his performances for Porto in what is his first season in Europe.
