Seahawks keep Fluker, add Iupati to boost O-line

Former San Francisco 49ers guard Mike Iupati will remain in the NFC West in 2019, as the veteran offensive lineman signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks.

Guard J.R. Sweezy was a mainstay on the Seattle Seahawks offensive line anchored a mini-dynasty in the mid-2010s. But the Seahawks retained Fluker on Thursday.

The terms of Fluker's contract have yet to be announced at the time of this post.

A source had indicated to PFT on Wednesday night that Wright was moving toward reaching a deal after becoming a free agent for the first time in his eight-year career. Well now, he's gone again, having signed a two-year contract with the division rival Cardinals.

A knee injury kept Seahawks LB K.J. Wright sidelined for much of the 2018 season. He was banged up some during the year and then he was just a monster playing. "They've been competitors and contenders for the nine years I've been in the league".

"You could see his style come to life".

The Seahawks' offensive line made major strides on the ground last season, helping Seattle's three-headed rushing attack of running backs Chris Carson, Mike Davis and Rashaad Penny amass over 2,000 total rushing yards at a 4.7-yards-per-carry clip. The Seahawks understand and value what Wright, the team's longest-tenured defensive player, means to the development of a young defensive roster and even while injured for much of previous year, he helped the defense.
