South Africa bowl against Sri Lanka in 4th ODI

"They (the batsmen) didn't realise their value and take the opportunity to play a long innings".

De Kock followed up his century in the previous game with 51 from 57 balls as he blasted South Africa to a fast start in pursuit of the win.

Hashim Amla will miss the two remaining ODIs against Sri Lanka after CSA granted him compassionate leave following an illness in his family.

The Proteas bowled Sri Lanka out for 189 in 39.2 overs.

Sri Lanka's sorry display was best summed up by their skipper Lasith Malinga's sloppy dismissal, as he was run out for a duck when dozily failing to ground his bat as he made his crease. Not only did he fail to sprint in attempting a single but his bat was in the air when a throw from Reeza Hendricks hit the stumps at the bowler's end.

Batting at number nine in the order, Udana smashed 78 off only 57 balls to rescue the visitors' innings from 131 for nine.

"I'm just taking one game at a time and it's just a great opportunity", he said.

Udana's assault spoilt what was promising to be an excellent day for Nortje, playing in his home town.

"The last two overs didn't go according to plan but it is a nice learning curve", Nortje said after the match.

Watch the fifth and final ODI between South Africa and Sri Lanka from 10.55am, Saturday on Sky Sports Cricket.

Hendricks was one of three wickets for Dhananjaya (3-41) - the spinner returning to claim De Kock and captain Faf du Plessis (43) - but David Miller (25no) and JP Duminy (31no) saw South Africa safely to a resounding victory.
