LeBron, Carmelo, Chris Paul courtside for Wade's last game

LeBron, Carmelo, Chris Paul courtside for Wade's last game

Dwyane Wade didn't face Carmelo Anthony on the court this season, so being able to gift his final game-worn jersey to his friend on Wednesday night was an important gesture for the Miami Heat star. Through three quarters, Wade had a triple-double with 20 points, 10 assists, and 11 rebounds - fittingly, that 10th assist came to long time teammate Udonis Haslem.

The Nets honored Wade with a video tribute in pregame introductions by highlighting some of his notable shots against them over the course of a 16-year career while the text on the screen read "Thanks for the Memories". In Game 1 of Miami's first-round series against the New Orleans Hornets, Wade sank the game-winning floater with one second to play to lift the Heat to an 81-79 thrilling win.

"Listen, we couldn't miss D-Wade's last game". This is the last time he's going to be on an National Basketball Association floor wearing that Miami Heat uniform, that No. 3, so we're happy to be here to support'.

LeBron sat out the last six regular season games for the Los Angeles Lakers, so he's been free for the past couple of weeks now.

James added: "He's given so much to this game".

James went to the NBA Finals with the Heat as a Wade teammate from 2011 to 2014, with championships in 2012 and '13.

It's hard to say goodbye to a player like Wade, but Budweiser found the flawless way.

The trio travelled to Brooklyn to see Wade off one last time midweek.

"This was about the team".
