India announced their 15-man World Cup squad on Monday. Under pressure, we have seen Dinesh Karthik finishing matches.

While India boast a formidable top order that includes captain Virat Kohli, the search continues for a reliable number four batsman.

While skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, M.S. Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah were automatic picks, there were three main areas of concern that the selectors needed to take a call on.

The Indian team squad announcement for the cricket world cup 2019 will be broadcasted on Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 Hindi, Star Sports 1HD, Star Sports 1 Hindi HD.

England captain Eoin Morgan feels Pakistan are one of the strongest contenders for the upcoming ICC Men s Cricket World Cup 2019 that starts on 30 May.

"Definitely a case where we debated in length".

Pant is also angling for a back-up role, behind the stumps, with Mahendra Singh Dhoni installed as India's first choice wicket-keeper.

"That is the only reason why we went ahead with DK otherwise Pant was nearly there", he added.

Prasad said that Vijay Shankar, an all-rounder, provides a "three-dimensional" option to Ambati Rayudu in the number 4 position. MSK Prasad also confirmed that Kedar Jadhav could also bat in the important middle-order position if the need arises with KL Rahul also in the wings. Vijay Shankar is three dimensional.

"They hold the Champions Trophy - playing extremely well to win that, in England - so it's a series we're all looking forward to".

Rahul' selection could also mean bad news for Karthik and Pant.

The pace trio of Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah have also been included in the squad. The national team will leave for London on April 23 to play one-off T20I and five ODIs against England ahead of the World Cup.
