Nokia 4.2 with Google Assistant button launched in India: Price, specifications

Finnish company HMD Global has today launched a new Nokia-branded smartphone in India. The Nokia 4.2 is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, paired with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

Rear Camera: - 13-megapixel of the primary sensor with the f/2.2 lens and the 2-megapixel of the secondary sensor with the f/2.2 lens.

In terms of looks, the Nokia 4.2 is in line with other Nokia Android One smartphones in the market. The phone, carrying a modern 19:9 ratio screen has been priced at Rs 10,990 and will be available in 3GB + 32GB storage variant only.


The Nokia 4.2 comes with premium glass design with 2.5D curved glass on both front and back panels. It comes in two colour variants of black and pink sand. While it launched the Nokia 4.2 today, there is no word on the launch of Nokia 3.2. The new Nokia smartphone comes with two interesting additions that have not been traditionally present in the company's phones - a dedicated Google Assistant button and a notification light in the power button. The Nokia 4.2 was the first unveiled alongside Nokia 3.2, Nokia 1 Plus, Nokia 210 at the Mobile World Congress in February this year. On the front, the smartphone tacks on an 8MP selfie shooter equipped with f/2.0 aperture.

The change-log of the Android Pie update security patch for the Nokia 8 claims to bring improved user interface enhancements and system stability. The offers of the smartphone will grow to all the significant retail outlets the nation over on the 21 May. Additionally, Vodafone and Idea subscribers will receive Rs 2,500 cashback in the form of 50 vouchers of Rs 50 each. These vouchers can be redeemed on recharge of INR 199 and above.

Under the hood, it packs a 3,320mAh battery with wireless charging support and runs Android Pie as part of the Android One program. There is no information about the price of the device but if European price tags are anything to go by, then the Nokia 9 PureView should set you back about Rs 45,000 - Rs 50,000. For connectivity, this phone offers options of 4G VoLTE, OTG, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/AGPS/GLONASS/BeiDou and FM radio.
