Rihanna rips 'idiot' lawmakers behind Alabama's near-total abortion ban

Rihanna is voicing her outrage against the Alabama abortion bill that was just signed into action.

"Take a look. these are the idiots making decisions for WOMEN in America", the pop star wrote on IG next to a photo of all the men who voted in favor of the bill, "Governor Kay Ivey.SHAME ON YOU!"

Winnie Harlow, Lewis Hamilton, La La Anthony and many others supported Rihanna in the comments.

The Supreme Court has previously reaffirmed a woman's constitutional right to an abortion, but some anti-abortion activists believe the time may have come to turn the tables. Elizabeth Warren was among the first to enter the race.

Elizabeth Warren is calling for a series of targeted measures created to safeguard abortion rights following a flurry of new state laws that dramatically restrict women's ability to terminate pregnancies, a move Democrats have decried as a planned effort to chip away at the landmark Roe v. Wade decision.

"Our democracy should not be held hostage by right-wing courts, and women should not have to hope that Brett Kavanaugh and Donald Trump's Supreme Court will respect the law", she said.

Democratic 2020 U.S. presidential candidate and U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) speaks during a townhall event in Columbus, Ohio, U.S., May 10, 2019.

Warren wrote that Congress should also pass laws preemptively blocking Targeted Regulations on Abortion Providers, also known as TRAP laws, which impose restrictions on abortion clinics to make it impossible to deliver care, and should repeal the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal funds from being used for abortion services.

California Senator Kamala Harris, another Democratic 2020 hopeful, said people needed to fight back to protect Roe vs Wade as it is under attack.

Doctors who conduct abortion outside the confines of this act may also be sentenced to life imprisonment.

As pro-lifers celebrate Alabama's newly-enacted law to criminalize nearly all abortions, the reaction from Democrat politicians, left-wing personalities, and pro-abortion activists has been decidedly more hostile.

"Congress should do its job and protect their constituents from these efforts", said Warren.

Missouri's bill has a provision saying that if Roe is overturned, all abortions would become illegal in the state.

Even the conservative outlet National Review admits that Biden's stance on abortion rights is "to the right" of most Democrats, and the left-leaning Jacobin magazine dubbed him an "unreliable pro-choice advocate".

"I signed into law the Alabama Human Life Protection Act, a bill that was approved by overwhelming majorities in both chambers of the Legislature", Ivey said.
