Sophie Turner Slams Fans Who Signed "Disrespectful" Petition To Have S8 Rewritten

Sophie Turner Slams Fans Who Signed

After almost a decade, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner's time as Sansa Stark has ended. Sophie played Sansa Stark on the popular show. Fans have had different reactions to the petition but Sophie Turner has outrightly slammed the move.

In a New York Times interview published Monday, the Sansa Stark star addressed the disgruntled fans' demands and called the petitions "disrespectful" to the writers and the crew.

Although Sansa learned a great deal about rulers and leading people during her experiences outside the North, Turner thought it was more fitting the character's fate only required her to lead the people of the North, as opposed to everyone within the Seven Kingdoms. Sansa's loose locks at her coronation have drawn comparisons to the defiant look of Queen Elizabeth I, who also endured trauma but refused to be defined by it.

Taking to Instagram, Turner posted a photo that gathered the entirety of the Game of Thrones cast posing as one big happy family. I think no matter what anyone thinks about this season - and I don't mean to sound mean about critics here - but whatever critic spends half an hour writing about this season and makes their [negative] judgement on it, in my head they can go fuck themselves.

"It was kind of the ideal ending for her", Sophie continued. She did seem to make out like a bandit compared to Bran and Tyrion, who were now tasked with the burden of rebuilding a kingdom that had been ravaged by war for years on end.

"Sansa, Thank you for teaching me resilience, bravery and what true strength really is" she captioned the post. I know how much people cared about this.

She was referring to Change.org's petition calling for a remake of the last season of HBO's adaptation of George R.R. Martin's fantasy books.

In fact, Turner herself believes the hairstyle shows just how far Sansa has come in the last eight seasons.

In April, Turner told Dr. Philon in his podcast Phil in the Blanks that negative comments about her character on social media caused a decline in her mental health, following "five or six years" of battling depression, and added, "I used to think about suicide a lot when I was younger". Thank you for falling in love with these characters and supporting this show right through till the end.
