Asus ROG Phone 2 confirmed to feature 120Hz display

In partnership with Chinese fighting game “Under the One Man” Asus announced its upcoming phone will feature the increased refresh rate and promised more future games will be optimized for the 120Hz experience. The promo image illustrates that Under One Person will be the first to fully support the native 120Hz display providing a clearer and smoother gaming experience.

Considering last year's ASUS ROG Phone used an AMOLED panel, there is the slight possibility the ROG Phone 2 could have a 120Hz AMOLED display.

Last week, ASUS announced that they are partnering with Tencent Games, the studio behind PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile. The original ROG Phone used specially binned chips of the Snapdragon 845 to achieve slightly higher clock speeds than the regular Snapdragon 845 chips.

At this point, no other specs have been confirmed for the ROG Phone 2, although a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC is nearly certainly to be onboard this time around. Since it's a gaming phone, it's highly possible it will also come with a cooling mechanism.

Asus had already revealed that the ROG Phone 2 will be released in July this year.

It was inevitable that ASUS would bring a second-generation of its ROG Phone to market, but the company has been rather tight-lipped about what features the device will offer - until now. Customers can buy this gaming device for Rs 69,999. As for the specifications, the ROG Phone was launched with a 6-inch without any notch. The translated post also mentions the fact that the video game "Under The One Man" will support the new refresh rate, making it one of the titles users will be able to play on the next Asus phone. The reason behind this is to give gamers more controls in an effort to mimic a gaming controller.
