Former Canada worldwide Kyle gets death threats for criticizing USWNT

Some folks were ENRAGED that the United States did not ease up on Thailand after seven or so goals and FURIOUS that the USWNT celebrated TOO MUCH whence scoring goals.

Alex Morgan of the US celebrates with teammate Megan Rapinoe after scoring her team's twelfth goal during the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup France group F match between U.S. and Thailand. Alex Morgan scored five goals-tying Michelle Akers's U.S. record for most goals in a Women's World Cup match by a single player.

Among those crying the hardest was Thai forward Miranda Nild, who was born and raised in California, the same state as USA striker Alex Morgan, who scored five goals.

"Obviously we have the utmost respect for everyone we play, but it's the World Cup", Rapinoe said later.

But the Thai team qualified for the competition, and thus deserve to be there.

"Whatever we do or say or the way we play, everything is going to be magnified", Morgan said.

Opinion was split following the one-sided match, with some applauding the Americans for staying focused throughout, while others felt they should have eased off or not celebrated their goals with such enthusiasm. Factor in it being you available. That is your dream of playing after which scoring in a World Cup.

If I'm being completely honest, I did cringe at some of the celebrations. Players from other teams also have taken stands, most famously Norway's Ada Hegerberg, the best player in Europe, who left the national team two years ago over treatment of female players.

In much the same way, World Cup newcomer Jamaica has depended on the support of Bob Marley's daughter, Cedella Marley, who has helped fund and promote the team through her late father's foundation. "So it's incredible for us all and I'm happy just ignoring those comments".

"As a Canadian we would just never ever think of doing something like that". I said the exact opposite.

Her critique triggered online death threats, which Kyle addressed in a social media post on Tuesday night.

Many Twitter users also criticised the show of joy with the hashtag "UglyAmericans".

"A classless victor is worse than a sore loser, regardless of gender", said one tweet.

"Take the pearl clutching and righteous indignation somewhere else".

There is great soccer on every single day of your life right now-even beyond the World Cup.

USA coach Jill Ellis defended her team's approach and said it would have been disrespectful to Thailand to ease up.

"This is a world championship so every team that is here has been fantastic to get to this point".

"In football games, everybody is following the rules, and everyone is trying their best", Thailand coach Nuengrutai Srathongvian said. I've always been told you shouldn't feed trolls, but when the debate is warranted and it's something that needs to be tackled we should speak up and not only feed them but shove some facts straight down their throats.

The US are bidding to reach their third consecutive final and switch into only the 2nd nation to efficiently protect a Ladies folks's World Cup title, after Germany's 2003 and 2007 successes. Also, Germany were playing Brazil, not Thailand.

The U.S. and Thailand were the last two teams to kick off the season in the group stage of the month-long tournament.
