Man City to kick off season at West Ham

'Norwich to Liverpool is a five-hour drive even without any traffic issues, which makes it very hard for working fans to get there, let along the return journey terminating in the early hours.' Daniel Farke's side have an equally daunting fixture on the final day of the season - away to Manchester City.

And with West Ham and Norwich respectively awaiting them, there appears little resistance this time around.

On the same day the Premier League revealed its schedule for the 2019/20 season, Amazon announced they will broadcast 20 matches over two game weeks.

Aston Villa secured promotion to the Premier League for the first time in three years after beating Derby County in the Championship playoffs final.

"Nothing quite beats the excitement of a match day, being inside a full Premier League ground and seeing a match in the flesh, so it's very encouraging to hear that so many global visitors want to experience football in this country".

The Hammers have lost on day one for the last three seasons, including back-to-back 4-0 defeats at Manchester United and Liverpool, while City have won 4-0, 4-1 and 4-0 away to the Hammers in the last three seasons.

The second matchday will see City go up against Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium, and the week after Liverpool will host Arsenal at Anfield.

Liverpool will travel to Manchester United in October and then host their fierce rivals in January. They play Wolves away from home, where they lost last season, and also face Southampton away from home at the end of August.

Tottenham will look to build on back-to-back opening wins when they face promoted Aston Villa, who have only one defeat in their last six curtain-raisers.

That match at Anfield will take place on Friday, August 9.
