Trump Announces Sarah Sanders Will Be Leaving the White House

"After 3 1/2 years, our wonderful Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving the White House at the end of the month and going home to the Great State of Arkansas....", Trump wrote on Twitter, his preferred platform for personnel announcements.

According to CNN, Sanders is indeed considering running for governor in Arkansas.

Trump also recommended a future job for Sanders.

The President hasn't announced who would be her replacement.

But White House press conferences have become increasingly rare during her tenure. She began her role as press secretary since July 2017, the third female to hold the position in history.

Sanders, for her part, has yet to issue a statement on the matter.

Sanders told reporters in August 2017 that Trump "didn't dictate" a misleading statement from his son, Donald Trump Jr., about a meeting with a Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign.

- Sarah Huckabee Sanders is stepping down as the White House press secretary.

"Frankly, I think my credibility is probably higher than the media's", she said".

Sanders, who has three young children, was the first working mother to serve as White House press secretary - a theme she regularly invoked during press briefings. He added, "If we can get her to run for the governor of Arkansas, I think she'll do very well".

Sarah Huckabee Sanders will no longer be the White House press secretary.

This breaking news story will be updated.
