West Ham reportedly name asking price for coveted defender

But, Manchester United have been quoted figures of £100 million and £80 million for the two defenders respectively as per Sky Sports, leading to them turning their focus towards West Ham's Issa Diop.

A new long-term partner for Victor Lindelof is needed as doubts continue over Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly and Man Utd have been linked with big money moves for the likes of Harry Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt and Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Frenchman only moved to the London Stadium last summer, making a £22 million move from Toulouse, and enjoyed a fine debut campaign in the Premier League, playing in 33 of the Hammers top flight games.

The 22-year-old has attracted a lot of interest, but West Ham have remained adamant that their prized asset is not for sale.

However, United are unwilling to sell the player that the Hammers are interested in, leaving a potential deal in doubt.

But a source close to the player believes a £60m bid would tempt the capital club to cash in.

Discussing the defender's talents after West Ham beat United 3-1 back in September, former Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho hailed: "Congratulations to the scout that found a 21-year-old kid Diop - a monster who dominated everything in the duels".

However, this might not be the end of it, as there is a further claim that Diop, who only joined West Ham last summer, wants the move to happen.
