Eye drop recall from Walgreens and Walmart

According to the FDA, the products are sold exclusively at both stores.

The recalled items include Lubricant Eye Drops - Moisturizing, Sodium Chloride Ophthalmic eye ointment and eye drops, and Lubricant Eye Ointment - PF Soothing.

Altaire Pharmaceuticals, Inc., announced that it is voluntarily recalling the Over-the-Counter (OTC) drug products marketed under the name Equate sold at Wal-Mart and sold at Walgreens under the Walgreens brand. The first is called Equate Restore Tears Lubricant Eye Drops Twin Packs and sold in 2 x 15ml packages.


The company said it has notified Walgreens, Perrigo and Walmart regarding the recalls.

There are also several other Equate eyedrop and lubricant packages being recalled. To date, the company has not received any issues reported by customers.

Altaire Pharmaceuticals Inc. issued voluntary recalls for various Equate and Support Harmony products, including for allergy relief, solutions, eye drops and gel drops - all manufactured and labeled for Walmart. The complete list of recalled products listed by the FDA can be found here.
