Firefighters Tackling Blaze at Warner Bros.' UK Studios at Leavesden

The hearth started in one of many levels at Leavesden, Hertfordshire, late on Wednesday evening.

A spokesman for Warner Bros would not comment on the fire other than to confirm it was ongoing. The blaze was eventually extinguished just before 3pm local time.

At least 18 fire trucks were called out to fight the blaze, and firefighters spent 15 hours tackling it.

Hertfordshire County Council's Fire and Rescue Service said that "the set was not being used at the time of the fire" and "there are no injuries".

A spokeswoman for Warner Bros Studios said earlier that the studios and tours were open.

James Bond movies, as well as Fast And Furious and Mission: Impossible titles were also filmed there.


The Leavesden-based studios have also been involved in the production of The Dark Knight, Inception, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Jason Bourne. Studio Tour attraction which takes guests behind the scenes of the making of the Harry Potter series.

"The smoke went high into the air, and as I watched, the smoke appeared to get thicker, so much so that we could see the flashing lights of the fire engines reflecting off the thick smoke".

Studies within the Watford Observer described individuals close by being woke up to "very robust odor of smoke".

There are still a lot of smoke in the area according to reports.

"Eighteen fireplace engines and help automobiles, are at present on the scene as crews proceed to sort out the hearth".
